Settings - Product Categories

Updated over 4 months ago

💡 In Douano, you can assign products to one or more categories. Typical examples include: Malt, Blonde Beer, Canned Beer, Tripel, Gin, Red Wine, White Wine...

💡 This categorization can be used in the reporting module to, for example, see which turnover was generated for a specific product category.

⇢ Go to Settings – Products – Product Categories and click the green plus icon.

  • Name: the name of the product category.

  • Visible in dropdown lists: checked by default, allowing the category to be selected when assigning a category to a product.

  • Default: you can set one product category as the default. This default category will be automatically selected when creating new products, but can still be overridden during creation.

  • Description: an optional field to provide additional information.

  • Group: the name of the group you want to assign the product category to. For example, you can group the categories Blonde and Tripel under Belgian Beer.
